In order to keep the festivities festive, we wanted to share a few quick holiday safety tips to ensure that everything goes smoothly over these next few days.
- Designate a driver: The holidays are a great time for parties and celebration, but if you are driving anywhere and plan on drinking, please make sure you designate a driver. If you are worried about getting home safely this holiday season, download this brand new app from the NHTSA.
- Avoid driving in storms if possible: While Floridians don't have to worry about driving in snow, we must be wary of rain, fog, and potentially even tornado warnings. Keep an eye out on the weather each day, and try to avoid driving during any type of storm this holiday season.
- Long commute ahead? Get plenty of sleep the night before: We have shared with you the dangers of driving sleep deprived many a times in 2014, so once again we implore you to get enough shut-eye the night before a road trip. Get to your friends and family safely this holiday season!
- Natural, fresh cut trees should be kept in water to avoid fires: If you are celebrating Christmas this year with a natural, fresh cut tree, you could be posing a fire risk to your home if the tree dries out. Put your tree in water to avoid any problems.
We hope these tips will help keep you and your family safe this holiday season! Be sure to share these tips with friends and family, and let's spread the holiday cheer throughout Florida!
